John, that is a factory adapter that goes on top of #1 injector (#4 in vans i bellieve) to facilitate use of the rotunda timing meter we have at dealerships to time these engines.

My camper had one of those (correct on injector #4).

I removed it when I did my injectors but I kepted it.

Yes... Thats what it is... They are no longer needed because we have the better timing meters these days. The Ford Rotunda meters had a clamp that connected around this fitting. It worked ok but these days nobody has those older meters... I have two of those meters....
