sounds like a 7.3L PSD when you were slowly revving up. but it sounds like a gasser v8 on off throttle revving down.

I'm a fan! I have the Banks kit on mine, and this almost makes me want to try a straight pipe in lieu of the muffler just for a bit. Wonder if they sell the piece or if it'd be cheaper just to have a shop weld it up with some flanges....

Yea I love the sound I just wish the turbo could be heard spinning up on start up or at the lower rpm's.
I have the Banks kit on mine and it had the 3.5" exhaust that came with it. A straight pipe was hung in place of the muffler and it sounded pretty good at idle/low rpms... You could hear the turbo whistle up until about 1600rpm. After that it starts to do the loud "gasser pop"...which I didn't like personally.
To answer your question it would be easy fit a shop to do or even yourself if you have access yo a welder, chop-saw, pipe and good clamps. You should be able to make it in a way that if you're unhappy with the results you could hang the muffler back on.
