Vhf radio mount

So im just putting a vhf radio in my truck i wanna mount it above the rear view mirror but how do u mount it thru the headliner.... To the roof i dont wanna drill thru roof top lol.

I saw in another thread where someone had stated that they made a mount that used the visor retainer holes. Or, you could find a shelf it and install it on that.

ill have to snap a pic of it, fab'd up a bracket to mount my CB above the rearview mirror, there are two pieces of sheet metal up there, i used short (1/2in) texx screws, and it worked just fine... ill snap a pic and try and post it up in a few

EDIT: cant get the photo to upload, ill run out in the morning and try and snap another photo thats smaller in size to upload

heres what i did with my CB, hope it helps, if ya need some more pics i can snag them when daylight comes around again

Well the texx screws are self drilling , there are two layers if sheet metak up on the roof line i just punched a hole with the screw and called it a day

thats how i did mine as well. just used short metal screws into that lip. i need to make a better bracket for my cb to drop it down a bit. but it works pretty good up there
