Sterling axle nut tool, anyone?

I made a 450 mile round trip to buy a cab & chassis off of Poppop (Bill) and got to meet my first OB member in person. Worth the trip not only for a deal on the rear but to meet a really cool person and shoot the breeze for a bit. A pleasure and a small taste of what the rally will offer I'm sure.

So I made it home safe and tore the old rear out of the truck and want to swap the brakes from the old one to the new one.

Does anyone have a Lisle or KD Tool part number for the socket needed to remvoe the hubs? The Advanced Auto idiots said yeah, we have one of those..........it was for a Dana 44 front. Thanks again.

JoeMC or 88Beast posted a while back that O'reillys had them on sale for like $12.99, which is a steel. Not sure of the quality of that one. Part # might be in there too.

You looking for a 4 pronger, I think it also applys to the D60 and D70 IIRC. It's bigger than the D44 front one.

Mine says 7269, but not sure if that is a universal number.

Thanks, Brad. Yeah, I could've googled it also, not too hard. Definitely made me laugh, watching the computer type it out for me like I'm a little kid.

So I'm guessing that the Dana 80 and the Sterling use the same tool.

Mine says it's for 85 and newer F250 and F350 with the "High Shear" nut and Ford Super Duty with Dana 80.

I think I said something about D60 and D70 before, that was from my faulty memory.

Hey Brad, I found and bought the socket today. Can you whip up something fancy so I can sit back and magically watch the tools do the job while I watch in awe?

Figures my luck would have it, $45 for this tool, $17.99 for the Dana 44 socket of which I have two already.
