Stack Time.

Ok, so it's stack time for the dually, old school 4" flat black flat top is the plan - this is a work truck after all. .....It will come up between the cab and box on the pass side - pic's to come in the next day or two....Total cost - $30, I've been scrounging new cut-off exhaust elbows and clamps at work (scrap metal bin) for a little while.....Goofy will shot some video of me rolling coal when we are done. The 6.9 smokes like an old Mack with the 7.3 pump and reman injectors, slight timing advance too.

I had a thing about stacks - I thought they were pretentious on a pickup and swore I'd never be seen sitting in front of one. But I was reminded two days ago, as a pissed off Civic driver honked and gesticulated wildly at me for apparently blowing a bunch of smoke in his driver side window while taking off from a stop light (I don't blame him), that they actually have a purpose, and a damn good one. And as far as stacks go, a jet black flat top would be pretty kickass. That truck is going to be like a high-class Road Warrior rig when you're done.

I should have it on this week, been busy here today with 2 trucking jobs and Goofy helped me to bring home 2 92/93 fullsize Bronco's I bought today too........2 rusty Bronco's, a complete 7.5ft conventional Fisher elec/hyd plow gear setup and 4 good tires/wheels for $1000.

Haulin that trailer musta looked like a locomotive comin up the road lol.

I got sick of dumping exhaust out the passenger side into traffic....so I put a single 2 1/2" stack back on the pickup.

I got a sneak preview of BigRig's stack materials against the wall onthe floor of the shop....it's gonna be a monster when it's done.

This is the new stack, it's not bad lookin and it gets the smoke up in the air. I got a can of satin black header paint that I need to put on it....make it look a little better. This stack, with the glasspack muffler....is LOUD!!

I like the look of the size of them 4" setups. I may do a 3.5" or 4" later on.

Holy cancer survivor!That poor truck!Wow I am glad I live in the south where we use sand on our roads when it snows or freezes.There is something to be said about just closing the roads instead of rotting the cars......

That's sorta what I'm planning for FrankenTruck- a single 4-inch BBQ black stack with a rain cap, poking up through a pipe flange set into the flatbed. I'm anxious to see the pics!

And my truck is what you would call a truck that's in good condition in my parts. The backside of the bed panels are undercoated to death, along with the cab floor, box floow, framt and hood. I had to replace both front fenders and I am about to do one cab corner and both over the wheel panels.

I like the look of the size of them 4" setups. I may do a 3.5" or 4" later on.

Similar to how I had mine, only I used 3" pipe and did a slant-cut at the top and installed a rain cap over that. I did try the 2.5" turnout style for a bit and the 3" sounds nicer, deeper and somewhat quieter actually. I kinda wanna have a stack again, but with the slide-in permanently in the bed of the truck I'll have to run it externally like on a big truck, which has the potential to turn into one big mess...
