Well this weekend I fixed the sag on the right rear corner of the 6.9. I found it to have the top three leaves broke right out the centering pin. but the question I have is what for bolt do you use for the rear leaf spring hanger had to cut the one to get it. We just put a Gr5 1/2 bolt in for now to get it back on the road will that work? or Do I need something heavier?

the stock bolts on my '86 were metric, i replaced them with standard, 1/2 or 9/16, i can't remember. that was 90,000 miles ago. i forget if i used grade 5 or 8, i want to say i used grade 8, the biggest standard size that would fit.

I recommend using an actual spring center bolt since it has the tapered round head made specifically for that application. If you have a spring shop nearby, they will have them on the shelf for a few bucks apiece.

If you go the bolt route don't leave that Grade 5 in there.I always use Grade 8s in any load situation.The higher the grade the higher the strength and in a suspension application there is a lot of stress.
