WHOLY SH------NIKE:eek: what a difference...and temp seems to build QUICKER:eek:

every bit of 300 degrees difference.....pulling a reasonable grade at 2800 turns at 80 mph--14 lbs boost/800 deg.................... and bury the pedal... 25 lbs boost and can easily pass 1300 deg:eek:  barely made 1k reading post turbo stack temp.

Same Auto Meter 12v powered pyro guage and thermocuple....just moved from post to pre when I had the engine out....easier to drill the collector flange:D

Exh is WIDE open from gutted EBPV back,,,,nutin' but hollow pipe.

yup time for an intercooler :D although i can still hit 1500 degrees easily even with the IC but it takes a little longer to get there as opposed to no intercooler

I never had the post but I was amazed when I put the pre-turbo pyro on. I was seeing 1350 on a stock 7.3 6sp pulling a TT going eastbound on I-40 just past the split with I-85 in Durham (really EASY grade). Of course that revelation led to more expense - I ended up putting on a Walker BTM. That was a cheap way to get 50-100 degree lower EGT. That made a big difference for not much money...

geonc,

Been saying this for years, now go get a trailer and a 4% grade and be in a hurry! You'll see a 600 degree difference really easy!!
