The mounting 'tab' on the passenger side of my dash is broken causing the dash to sit low on that side & rattle like crazy when I run over a gnat in the road. I have some kind of service kit from Ford that includes a couple of rivets, a metal bracket, and maybe a few other goodies. Has anyone ever used this to fix their dash? Does the whole dash need to come out? If so, I'll just replace the whole thing instead of patching my old one.

This seems to be a common problem. It must be if Ford made a repair kit. It happened on my '92, and I fixed it with, I think, a shelf bracket I found in the garage.

I can't remember whether I had to drill new holes in the bracket to match mounting points, but I used existing mounting points on the truck. Here's a link to a picture, maybe, if I get it right.

Dash Rattle Bracket

You can make out the bracket if you look carefully.

Yep, that's where mine is broken. Now that you have made your bracket, does the dash rattle at all?
