my dads 1996 7.3 Question

my dad has a 1996 power stroke and it has alot of power! i mean alot for a stock truck. our friends have the same truck but not aaat all as powerful and i want to know if FORD put any factory performance parts on it. there is a sticker on the right side of the fire wall that has #s on it andi want to know if any other trucks have this. and what does it have on it that is giving it more power? i mean it smoked an '06 dodge on night and a couple duramax's (some times our dad lets us kids take the truck out and we like to test it out ;p ) and has smoked tons of other trucks but the truck is stick as we know it.

how sure are you that the truck is stock?was it bought by your father new or used?if used it may have a chip and down pipe done to it.ford didnt put any performance parts on these trucks.ford actually detunes these engines for thier trucksif its a late 96 truck it may have the split shot injectors in it.

Your dads stock 96 7.3 didnt smoke an 06 Cummins or any Duramax's. If it did, then they were holding back or the 96 isnt stock.

And your dad is willing to let you get into a higher HP truck for your first truck?
seriously speaking, somebody must have grinned on that truck hard. The only OBS psd's that I've seen with any power were IC'd and reprogramed. there's alot of room for HP improvement on a early psd compared to an IDI.

well when we got it a friend of ours from a ford dealership came over and used this mogule thing and messed with it. but other than that its completels stock. my dad bought it from a guy we know that rebuilds wrecked trucks. but the people that had it before towed a fith wheel. and we raced it against my brothers friends dodge and it smoked it.
