Moving factory fuel filter head on 7.3 IDI

Water trap is a water trap. Put it where it will fit the best.
Some pumps don't mind pulling a vacuum, some do.
Not generally an issue, until you run out of fuel
Then you have to refill the filter/housing by the pump.
So bear in mind what TYPE of pump (vane, gear, etc.)
you are installing and what it can do.

87 and earlier water separators get pulled through.

personally i like the racor filters with a see through bottom for water.
