Is it common to have a hard time keeping the hose clamp tight on the mechanical pump? I replaced the short bit of hose due to it's age and leaking. However, since then, the hose end at the pump has been hard to keep tight, clamp wise. I'm pretty sure it's the hose/clamp not the weep hole. No fuel in the oil. Oil is slowly dropping from typical oil burning of an IDI. No diesel smell to it either. The leak seems to go away for a while (ie, after tightening or replacing the clamp) but then comes back.

I'm thinking I may have to try one of these heavier duty clamps instead of the regular worm gear type of hose clamp.

Those type of clamps are way better then the normal worm gear ones , don't cut into the hose.
