I normally don't like pulling down on the suspension when hauling a vehicle. Maybe you can get away with setting a couple blocks of wood between the frame and axel with about an 1" or 2 gap and pull it down to them with a chain from the truck frame to the trailer. That would give you a solid tie down. I prefer a pull from each corner, and if you have long enough Chains it's possible to do with 2 and 4 binders. Everyone has their own preference, I just want it to look like I care to DOT.

I don't like to pull 'em down too hard either, I'm mildly concerned with the lack of track bar.
I was thinking "blocks" myself. I think I'll do that and strap the front axle, to keep t where it's supposed to be.
x2 on keeping Mr DOT at bay with lots of shiny chain!

Back when I hauled the 85 in I used ratchet straps hooked to the frame then over the tires/rims on all 4 corners. Also used chain on both rear corners with binders. And 1 chain with binder on center axle. Worked for me and she stayed tight.

His late 70's E250 4x4 (6.9 ZF5) is about 10' tall!
I should have gotten a picture of it.
