BTW, while they're not common, the Nissan diesel was actually factory equipment...they offered a non-turbo variant from '76 to '79, and offered the turbo version in 1980. I used to own an '80 Scout II with the turbo diesel...it makes an M-B 240D fast but it was a good little engine until I cracked a piston trying to pull a Chrysler LeBaron over a steep hill object lesson learned: letting the pyrometer go over 1300 F for 5 minutes + probe mounted post-turbo = BAD THING
