Borrowed a borescope,

fully articulated, 5/32 dia probe, 4ft long. no camera or video though.

What should I inspect with it? And how to get to the inspection area?

Intelligent answers only please...

Yeah, my oil filler cap thread wasn't all that amusing.

just used mime on wreckle's truck to verify the absence of coppers in the injector holes. he's got a jacked up truck and I'm no spring chicken to jump on and off the truck.

A guy in Massachusetts uses his to check for cavatation by looking thru the water passages when the head is off. I was amazed at how much he could see in that limited space. Then there is looking in the cumbustion chamber - differential thru the lube hoiles-transmissions-intake- junst so many places to use -let your imagination go wild. I wish I had one. Hmm?? oh never mind I'll wind up in jail :D  :rotflmao

The real question is, is HE enough of a spring chicken to jump on and off his truck? :D

One thought, if you have a manual transmission, would be to do an oil change and, while the drain plug's out, look into the tranny and get an idea of what shape the internals are in...

All my vans are 7.3 IDI with e4OD

and all engines and trannys are assembled on working vehicles.

I got the scope originally to check the fuel tanks for bacteria. None found. Although the van I sold had some.

I've pulled one tranny pan and scoped around, nothing the least bit unusual. In fact, I've never seen a tranny this clean, ever, and I cut open the filter element too. It's a reman, and I don't know how many miles are on it.

I'll look thru the glow plug holes at the cylinders, and go up thru the oil drain holes, and anyplace else you guys think of.

I use mine to check brake wear on the tour buses, see hidden bolts under dashes, Inspect evap cores for leaks, etc, etc. They are kinda pricey if you get a good one. My snapon has a color screen and I love it.

he's got no problems with jumping off the truck. I pull a stunt like his and it's back to the VA hosp. for a couple of weeks.-cuss
I think if I tried to jump off that truck, it'd take a helluva lot more than 800mg of Motrin to get me moving the next morning  cookoo
