Hi everyone, new to the forum; for those of you who noticed my posts a week or so back i apologize for the unceremonious introduction. Im from jersey and i first fell in love with the idi's about 5yrs ago. I bought my first 89 f250 super cab in 2010 with 249k (nailed from the side front right by a 4rnnr doin 65 in a 25) the engine saved my buddies life it was almost a direct hit to the passenger side door and the truck barely moved he got 3 stitches on his right thumb from the glass. Only helped to develop my love for these motors more.
In 2012 i bought a 91 f250 standard cad 4x4 145k ( given to my sister in time of need; she crashed it into a tree over this winter and again the motor was what saved her life.
This year i bought an 88 f350 crew cab dually 75k.
Due to lack of time with the others i did not get to mess around under the hood as much as i would have liked; being all original everything rubber was cracking, everything leak wise started after i tried switching the tank first #2 injector began leaking a bit, ok... I pulled it out cleared the tgreads of dirt, new washer and reseated it. It was good, couple days later caps and lines were leaking, ok. New return line kit, ripped out the ip return rail and modified the system to the same system under the hood of the 91... Good for a few more days, now white smoke and missing bad at 2500rpm; take off the intake bowl and there is tons of blowby, oil is pouring into intake from CDR and now leaking from valve covers.? (Clean the CDR).. This cleared up a lot of the smoke and missing at high rpm but there was still a puff out the pipe about every 2secs. (Idk) hit 3000 rpm and #1 return cap blew and i couldnt keep her over 42mph finally i get home and when i noticed the specific injector cap there was nothing else it could be but back pressure on the return. I went down and popped the main return off the selector valve dropped it in a bucket and ran the truck..... Nothing! Red lined her and absolutely now more smoke except a puff of coal on fire, replaced the selector valve and shes good to go.

I hope someone else can use this information.
