Engine stalls.....only when tank is 1/4 full

Did a search, but lots of stuff out there to sift through....

Got a '00 with 319,000 on it......Runs like a champ. 2 week's ago, it began to stall-out at the 1/4 tank reading. Fill it up, it runs great. I've done this three times since then, so it's consistent at least.....I'm taking it in to a dealer Friday but could use your thoughts before they get to it...!!!!!

Sounds like it could be the fuel pickup in the tank. Im not sure what they look like on the powerstroke trucks, but when this happens on the older fords its usually a broken pickup or the guage is wrong leading you to think that the tank is at a quarter but is actually empty.

Definitely not the gauge. It'll take about 25 gal at the point where it stalls...

Just an update......

Problem fixed....Wasn't the pickup tube or pump. But the tank itself. I dropped the tank and what i found in the bottom look'd like chop'd up corn flakes, and alot of it. End result was the line'ng had de-laminated and plug'd up the screen on the foot. Found a local radiator shop that had a reline'd tank in stock and did an exchange (they do alot of those).......Do-it-your-self total repair time was 2.5 hrs.........
