I'm picking up a 'new' 5th wheel camper ( well, new to me, how about an '85 
in a few weeks and the front jacks are hand crank.
I'd like to convert them to electric.
I've seen the Atwood etc bolt on kits for near $300, question is, is there a cheaper setup out there, or plans on the net somewhere for a homegrown conversion? I do have mig welding capabilities here so a little minor fabrication isn't out of the question.
I just can't see spending that much for a small motor and a slotted fitting
