Does anyone know how much coolant my truck holds ?
I have a 1988 f-350 with a 7.3l idi ....( no a/c ).
I just started my rebuilt 7.3l the other day and only have water in it right now, but I need to drain it and make up a (50/50 water antifreeze) Thx.

I'm not sure but I guess it is 8 gallons.

Mine took 7 gallons of Fleetrite/distilled/SCA mix to fill the system after a radiator replacement that included draining the block; 8 gallons would include the reservoir. My 88 service manual says 31 quarts total, so it jives with Exekiel and my numbers. I was only picking nits so that you make sure to get your SCAs mixed in during the initial fill...
