I have a 93 F250 ext cab 7.3 idi with the Banks sidewinder kit on it E4OD with 4.10 gear ratios.Truck has a 6" suspension lift with 35/12.50 tires on it.I bought this a few years ago with 70k miles on it it currently is approaching the 100k mark I switched the engine oil to Amsoil 15w40 severe duty diesel oil that is also for marine applications at the last oil change to flush the delvac out which will be changed after 5k miles at 100k.Currently considering installing a amsoil dual remote bypass filter that includes the high flow filter,Amsoil ATF fluid and 75w90 Amsoil gear oil in the axles on the next oil change at 100k.Looking for opinions from others that have used these and which ATF the universal or the torque drive fluid kinda leaning towards the torque drive.Whats the best way to change the ATF and filter,I want to do a complete fluid change on the tranny including the torque converter.Plan on doing all this myself as I do all my own auto repairs and am pretty handy with a wrench. Thanks in advance I'm also considering a trying to get my hands on a high performance moose pump and injectors if I can locate where to order them and swing it.Thanks in Advance for any helpful info.:Thumbs Up

Sounds like a nice truck, you ought to put a pic and description in your signature.

I switched all my lubes to synthetic after the first 3K break-in miles about 22 years ago. The bypass oil filter mod didn't appeal to me, to many hoses and fittings. Prefer just changing the oil once a year.

Mine is a ZF 5 speed which takes ATF, so it doesn't have the problem of oil left in the torque converter. There may be a trick, but the only way I know is to change it like normal and let it mix with what remains -- then change again at some later date and dilute further.

I believe there is a drain bolt in the torque converter. Pull inspection plate off and rotate untill its in the down position.

Find an auto repair shop that uses a trans flush machine. The machine hooks inline on one of the cooler lines. You add fluid to the machine, run the vehicle, and the old fluid is pumped into the machine and the pressure pushes the new fluid in. We had one at a GM dealer I used to work at. It worked like a champ.

You want to pm RLDSL, he can give you the info you need on setting up a bypass. I switched my truck to Amsoil at around 205,500 after two aut[rx treatments and 2 rinse cycles with cheap mineral based oil. I have about 5,000 on the oil now, not planning on changing it any time soon. I'm dead level curious about oil analysis results. I'll let you know when I know.
