Wow guys sweet. I had done some research on jaking idis and had basically come to the conclusion no on had because of floating valves but hey im always up to learn. I have seen the bd and packbrake universal kits before, but figured I would start hurting things before it helped braking. I may have to re look into that.
Also I agree with jaluhn83 that if you have an auto the c6 is a very stout tranny but lacks an overdrive. the e40d can be built to handle more than you will probably need, as well as you can add a cooler. So you will have to spend coin as stock e40d's only hold up to about 100k of driving but once built you probably wont have to again.
As far as pregnant nuns its a phrase I stole from my intstuctors at WyoTech when they were discussing safety in welds for crutial components, saying they didn't want crappy welds to go out the door and kill someone.
I would also agree that the intercooler does not add sufficient restriction to be concerned with especially since you have a mechanical fan to back it. And it was also previously stated that it will heat your radiator a small amount but it lowers egts, adds power because of cooler denser air, and It will far outweigh any slight raise in air flow blockage with the power it makes. I also know obs powerstroke owners who run water **** injection and no intercooler with juge cooling gains coming from water/**** alone. So that may be another option for you or to add with the intercooler.
If you are going to intercool I would suggest R&D idi performance he has intercooling packages (but if you can find a 12 valve or 24 valve cummins they clear the radiator perfectly and look as if they were meant for a ford.) but he also has a intake that I belive but don't remember for sure if they have ports for water ****...but are built to make intercooling wayyyy easier. just some food for thought! best of luck
