Building Pop Tester, What is the thread size on the DB2 injection pump that feeds injector line?

I am planning to use an old/extra injector hard line to hook the injector up to the pop tester.

I have circled in red the threads that I would like to know the size of, I have found references to many diesels saying they are ORB thread (O-ring boss) ? but the topics i found where not specific to the ford IDI, so im not certain its ORB, or if it is ORB which size ORB.

Thanks, ever since seeing your post, I have been looking for the best price for a fitting matching that size of M12x1.5 to 1/4" npt, so far the best I have found is $17 shipped which seems a little steep for a fitting, i might try the local hydraulic shops to see if they could do any better.

The part number you list (A-MP22-1204) I could not find online at all, but using the dimmensions you listed I found the following parts that should work, but not many places to order them online:

9235-12-04 Adaptall Carbon Steel -12 Male Metric x -04 Female NPT Solid Adapter

222P-4-M112 Parker 1/4npt X M12 Metric Iso Adapter

A-5MP10-1204 Bosch

I hear you. That little adapter is the key piece, and it was hard to find. I think the place I got it specialized in hydraulic fittings.

I hate to say it, but when you can get a complete pop tester for $110 shipped:

It might not be worth building one.

And, if that one is like the one I bought a couple of years ago, it already comes with the correct adapter.

Sweet! That wasn't available when I built mine 6 years ago.
Being in Canada doesn't help either. By the time it gets to my door, it is about twice the price in CDN $ !!

Honestly like the look of the 10ton hydraulic pump over the bottle jack looking one, I can't say for sure but that dont look like a very good gauge either, isnt that the type that gets damaged quickly/easily? (The diesel compression tester I bought for my IDI also came off ebay, I ended up having to replace the gauge cause it was broke after only one use)

I finished ordering all the necessary parts and added it all up, came to $100.89(including all shipping)

I will post a picture of it after I receive all the parts and try it out.

The other nice thing about the 10 ton hydraulic pump is that you can use it as part of a porta-power system.

It just needs to be an oil filled gauge. I bought the same one in the ebay link a few years ago. It came with an oiled filled gauge and the correct fittings for a 6.2/6.5 and 6.9/7.3 . It worked great... but I left diesel in it and it turned to glue so now I have to take it apart and clean it.

I run ATF in mine. It's slightly thicker than diesel, tends to clean the injectors better, and I also have had really good luck with consistency of readings.

Plus, I leave mine full, and filled it up a couple of years ago... Just used it, and it was still fine.

Macrobb, I am guessing it prolly dont matter, but what type ATF you using? generic dexron 3? type F? whatever is cheapest? wondering if it matters at all for consistency or cleaning of the injectors.

I think 'whatever's cheapest' is best.

I'd been using some Type F(because I had a case around), and I think last time I just used some Mercon that I had... Anything should work, and a thinner one would be better for being like diesel.

The thicker type F, however, probably pushes crud through better? I don't know.

Manual? Not sure if I ever got one, but it's long gone now.

Find one that looks like yours on ebay and message the seller to send a picture of the manual or exploded view, either that or see what you can find online..... maybe just looking at an assembled picture online would be enough to figure it out?
