So whilst I wait to tear into my steering column my mind is spinning on what to do next. I've noticed in the past few weeks that my 6.9 is starting to smoke a little while just driving no load. I've got about 114k thousand on it. My fuel economy is right around 12 if I'm gentle on the throttle. And I've started using a quart of oil every 1000 miles or so. I've got 4.56 rear gears a C6 with Gearvendors a Banks turbo and its a 2wd crew cab.
My 1st question is this:
If I replace my injection pump and Injectors will this remedy the above issues? Or am I due for a rebuild? IdIiot told me that the pump and Injectors are only good for 100k and I know its over that, but I don't want to change that and find there's something else and have to rip into it again.
My 2nd question is:
I'm going to get a Moose pump and Injectors but whats the best setup? I tow a lot and I'm in socal so I'm up mountains frequently. I watch my egt's religiously.
