I know it is a pre-schooler question, but where in my 1985 factory-A/C truck am I gonna find my "blend door" ??

I sort of think it would be located in the heater-core vicinity.

Can I access it by exposing the heater-core ??

I thought I might take advantage of tomorrow's record heat-wave by investigating and refurbishing/resealing this blend door.

Also, at which settings does this door open ??

Is it vacuum- or cable-controlled ??

I do believe the blend door is cable operated, espeically on a rig of ur vintage and is behind the heater core. On the 92+ trucks i believe the selector is vacuum operated.

There is a vacuum hose near the passengers side hood hinge that breaks often. This hose goes to the fresh or recirculate door. If the line breaks the rest of the dash won't work correctly due to it creating a vacuum leak.
