Id like to make the front bench seat recline flat down to make a 3 peice bed with the rear. Im thinking make it a sofa bed click type hinges, where ypu push forward on the backrest to unhinge it it slides forward and folds out 180 degrees to touch the bottom part of the rear bench. Im interested in seeing someones hinge designs for this kind of setup.
i dont haul commercialy, would jsut be cool to have when going camping with the gf ;)

I'm curious too... would save some money on hotels if/when I get around to traveling for work or recreation.

If you found tap roll along trucks, and took the back seats out of them that folds flat to be a bed in theory you could do just what your talking about. I've only had one of these seats before, they are a bit hard to find. You could have a queen size bed though if you did this.

Take a look at vans in junkyards. Many of the conversion vans have fold down bench seats in the rear, designed specifically for sleeping. They are very well made and some have drawers under the seat. I've seen a dozen, and they are as cheap as $25.

Some of the newer crew cabs have a rear seat that folds out flat into a bed the widtd of the entire backseat area up to the back of teh front seats, it would be *just * big enough for 2 if you were REAL close friends :D Ive been married for over 20 years, the wife and I drag a 5er with a nice BIG bed in it :rotflmao

In 2009 I took home from the ralley a rear seat like what your talking about from Darrin to Towcat. It was a grey leather too. I sure wanted that seat but it was not to come.. Maybe Darrin or Calvin will chime in and tell us what it came from too. I'm guessing but I think it was from a centurion truck.

I've thought of this too. Only for myself though. I would like to be able to sleep in my CC when I'm working on the road sometimes.
