92 f350, each morning when i back up the truck and then place in drive,od light flashes until about 5 mph and stops flashing and shifts just fine. Also have noticed when driving and coasting and resume accelerating somewhat of a jolt or shake as torque converter engages? Is this normal or is there a sensor problem?

Flashing light means there is a trouble code stored in the computer. An OBD1 scan tool should work with the computer I think? Not too sure on the IDI trucks.

Most autozones will scan the code for you for free. If not they sell the code reader for like 30 bucks.
