Alternator rebuild shop?

and I agree with you on that. I'm getting a motorcraft if possible and wanted to see if there is some good rebuild shop on my area so I'll ceck both but I totally agree on the factory parts.

If the motorcraft unit is a rebuilt, it is no better than any aftermarket. If it is new, I would agree it is better than a rebuilt. That said, always look for remanufactured, not rebuilt if you are going outside motorcraft. And while it is just my opinion I always buy aftermarket as I don't buy into OE being better in many regards. I have seen the R&D done by SOME aftermarket companies, such as FelPro and Sealed Power. Not to mention, I doubt Ford has made one of these alternators since they put the OE one on your car, maybe not even then, so somebody out there is producing a OE quality part.

My dad worked for Goodyear and they made half of the plastic parts on their cars and trucks up until the late 90's when they closed the plant for production elsewhere for cheaper labor of course.
