there are 2 styles, one with a tach sender on the upper right (iirc, otherwise it's left LOL), and those without
find a truck with an idi and a tach and it'll have the sending unit style cover

I am looking for the easiest way to get a RPM signal.

You already have the signal. The E4OD computer doesnt work without it. You just need to attach a wire/pin to the output. On the vans the wire just isnt there like it is on the f series but the output/computer is the same.
