i have 90 7.3 idi 5 sp 2 wd dually with 11 ft utility body i have been working on for a couple years, installed new single mass flywheel set up in it,has a new radiator in it,and just installed new banks sidewinder kit on it pulls really good, today i picked up a 87 6.9 f250 with ats turbo,4 sp,4 wd,that smokes from a few different places including the turbo vincity, and out the tail pipe and uses oil, will my 7.3 bolt right in?along with single mass fly wheel and clutch set up and radiator and banks set up?im thinking the f350 dually would be worth more in parts then in one piece and running and i know i have a good engine then.thanks for input

It's mostly all the same. Only thing I can think of is you may need a different clutch disc.

yup, everything will swap right over,
as long as you use the zf5 clutch on the zf5, anf the t19 on the T19.
i swaped my 87 6.9 over to a 94 7.3 T
the only thing i had to modify was the glow plug and engine harness.
i dont know but you may have to do this also, depending on the engine connector.
but cutting, soldering and shrink wrapping the new connector on your 87 is easy enough.
i kept the 87 wiring connector and rebuilt that entire harness.
i dont know what zf5 you got, but i am using a F450 zf 5 with a 3307, all driveshafts matched.
engine mounts are the same, trans mounts may differ a bit.
i cant remember which trans mount i used, but i remember messing with it.
it was pretty easy peazy.
does your 2wd zf5 have a drum e-brake on the back of it?
good luck!

if he wants to run the T-19, he has to use the T-19 flywheel pressure plate and clutch disc, -19 are 11" zf5 are 12"
the 12" wont fit in the bell housing unless you get the conversion pressure plate.
had to pull my t-19 back out because the pressure plate hit the casting.

pull the flywheel and the whole sha-bang off the T-19.
RTV the flywheel bolts, as ive read that they can leak.
im not quite sure how or where, but its not gonna hurt!!

install the T-19flywheel, pressure plate and clutch disc, then bell housing.

go to the hardware store, and get some 6" long bolts, cut the heads off the bolts and install them into the bell housing before installing the transmission.
it will make your life easier.
after its in, pull one of the modified bolts out as a time and install the real bolts.

dont forget to install the throwout bearing with a fair ammount of wheel bearing grease.

You seal those flywheel bolts cause the holes go through into the crankcase and oil hits em. I used arp thread sealer.

im not saying youre wrong, but when i was in there, i coulda swore the rear main was behind the flange for the flywheel, and the RMS was smaller.
i didnt trust myself either, and using a bit of RTV wasnt going to break my bank or my ego lol

He's right. They go into the crankcase.
Gary said it awhile back. So I'm willing to trust it.
