Hey all, got me a beautiful 1990 7.3 idi farm truck that i just finished puttin a set of 5" stacks on, its four inch from the engine back but not sure what kind of muffler i should put on, i like it loud and deep but i dont want it to sound like crap, any suggestions?

I think glass packs sound badass n/a, thats what I ran till I slapped a turbo on

On my truck. Sounds great and unlike a glass pack that van blow out after a period of time these mufflers will not blow out. As you can see it is a straight through design which is the most efficient for a diesel exhaust.

I had a glasspack on the stock 2.5 exaust before i did all the work, i tweaked the injection pump so that glass pack wont last five minutes rollin coal. anybody heard of flowmaster hushpower?

You have a pyrometer?

If not, get one, or turn the IP back to stock.

My pump is turned up with injectors and I ran a 3 inch glass pack for around 7 years, isn't the point of a glass pack to get blown out and be loud anyways?

How about one of these, sounds great, can be installed either way depending on the sound you want. Ebay $60 shipped, just designate the pipe size you want. The one I got is 3.5 inches for my 99 PSD, Sounds great.

Would you prefer the tone over straight pipe? I know someone on here put one on and claimed quicker boosting...

im interested in that little deal off e-bay could you give me any more info on it? which way would you recomend installing it and what is it called. and yes hesutton i have a pyrometer. iv had melt downs before lol
