    Would you change these??

The guided seals will come out in two pieces if you use the pry bar method ( like I do), just stick your 24" pry bar back in there and nudge the guides out.

    Clutch Rattle...

That was my first thought, but usually throw out bearing noises change when pressure is applied or taken off, this is more consistent. It's also a pronounced rattle, not your typical bearing noise. I'm at a loss here.

Not the insp cover, no heat shields that I can find.

    Clutch Rattle...

..that doesn't seem to be clutch related? Short version, loaned my truck out and when I hopped in it to go to work two days later I hear a metallic rattle from underneath the floorboard. Nothing that sounds catastrophic or anything, but extremely annoying. Got to work and crawled...

    PSA: Change your caliper pins

All good advice fellas, I like the permatex ultra caliper grease myself, nice and tacky.

    PSA: Change your caliper pins

Those two pieces of metel bonded together with a little bit of rubber that hold your caliper on, yea replace those. I "inspected" them the last time I did a brake job, and had one disappear on the ride home yesterday. Fortunately I was less than a mile from the house so I limped it home...

    Parting Out: 87 F-350

Parting out an 87 F-350. Standard cab long bed, blown 6.9, ZF-5, 4x4. D60 and all related components are gone, bed is already spoken for. Blue interior, blue/black two tone body is pretty straight ( minus the front bumper and grill). Now here's the rub, truck is at a buddy's place...

Wanted: Front drive shaft slip yoke for 1985 Ford F350 4wd

Double cardan should be on the transfer case, slip yoke towards axle. Not sure about the yoke itself, but you can buy the whole shaft from napa. Not cheap.

what shares tach and voltage gauge wires?

Yea, the intermittent working makes me believe it's a bad ground and/or bad connections on the cluster itself. One day it will bother me enough to pull it apart and start looking.

what shares tach and voltage gauge wires?

If I've been running around with no tach for the last 7 years because of a blown fuse I'm gonna be ticked...

    Rok Auto Belts

Thanks, I'll have to put some on my next order. Also for those with post-87 4x4 F350s, or those doing a D60 swap, they have tie rods on close-out for about $20 each. TRW branded, but it's actually NOS made in USA Moog pieces.

what shares tach and voltage gauge wires?

I'm fighting this also, tach and voltmeter work when they want to. Fuel gauge doesn't work at all. Not looking forward to pulling the cluster apart, tough job when you have giant meat hooks.

    New parts truck

Defiantly blue and tan, seven years in a briar patch put nice patina on the blue. Right now I'm planning on using the front axle and associated parts, a few motor parts, transfer case, and maybe the rear end and bed. The doors may already be spoken for as well. It's kind of a shame, a...

    87 F350. Bad 6.9. ZF5, 4.10s and it's even the same color! Looks like a D60 swap is in my future:D

    Headlight relay kit

I used the LMC kit on my truck, wiring and connectors looked pretty good, relays are typical Chinese quality. We'll see how long they last. Light output is much better though!

    Turbo rebuild and later install

I'm doing one right now as a matter of fact. Standard t3/t4 kit is what it takes. ETA: almost forgot, good luck with the bolt on the hot side housing under the oil inlet flange. I had to sacrifice a box end wrench to the grinder to get it to fit in there.

    Battery cables, good source?

I picked up a pre-made cable from carquest, good quality, fits nicely, not cheap but it was less expensive than making one up. I ended up making the negatives with 2/0 cable and terminals.
