1988 7.3 IDI sawp into 2000 truck?
The newer truck has a manual tranny which I would be keeping. So will the older IDI drop right in or do I have to swap heads, intake, etc? Also, you say it won't pass a smog check. Will the check engine light be on? In my state, there's no sniffing, but a simple OBD2 check for readiness...- Chad Douglas

1988 7.3 IDI sawp into 2000 truck?
I have a 1988 F350 IDI. It's engine is good and the rest of it is crap. I also have a 2000 7.3 F350 that needs an engine but body is good. Is this a doable swap? If so, what has to be swapped to make the computers happy?- Chad Douglas
