I replaced the brass gear and that fixed the slipping issues I was having. I also checked the ignition switch lower down on the column and found it was starting to separate which was causing my confusion with the key positions not lining up like they were supposed to.
A new ignition switch...
That is what I was doing, it was close a number of times but too many degrees off for the key positions to be correct.
If the gear that the key turns is damaged could that cause my problem? I had to replace the rack since it seemed damaged and I replaced the key tumbler while I was at it but...

Hey ya’ll! My truck would no long start with the key. I replaced the wishbone that commonly breaks and replaced the turn signal actuator while i was in the column.
I have been trying for hours to get my ignition actuator to align with the rack gear...
Any reason why my fuel lines are different?
I spaced the filter housing up to clear the hard line just so i could get the truck on the road. I will be replacing it with something different soon.
Unless I am missing a piece or just dont know how this is supposed to go on, it looks like the injector hard line is in the way.
Is it possible for my injector hard lines to be on in the incorrect order?!?
*Edit - I checked the diagram and each fuel line goes to its intended spot on the pump...
I tried burning out the old olives. I had no clue thats what they were called.
I ended up just buying a braided line from CDD. I wasnt convinced that i cleaned the ancient brittle rubber out good enough to make a good seal.
Side note… Will the factory 7.3 turbo intake work on a v belt 6.9 with...
The oil feed on my 093 ats turbo I just finished installing is leaking oil out of the fittings on the hard line.
The orings? in the fittings are very stuck. Is there a way to replace the seals or am I better off ordering a braided line?
Thanks!
Assuming you’re talking about the red wire in question, I will remove it and wire it separately if I can figure out what it was supposed to go to. Thanks!
I realized I never mentioned that the other end of that wire is cut off and loose and I have no idea what it could have gone to before I...
Here’s the two pictures from before I took the truck apart if they help at all. The big red wire going from the positive terminal towards the blower motor is an amp wire.
I have the big positive wire going direct from the battery and a small ground wire from the solenoid to the starter. The black wire on the right most post goes down to the starter. I included an old picture of how my starter was wired.
The black wire coming off the splitter(?) is attached to a...
I am getting the last of the wiring on my truck put back together. What does this red wire coming off of the hot side of the starter solenoid go to? I have a 3 post starter solenoid.
Wire is outlined with purple.
Thanks!
I guess I’m just misunderstanding what you’re saying.
The removable cover for the transmission has a 2wd and 4wd version? Or did I entirely miss a section of the cover that can be removed.
Just wanting to clear it up for anyone who looks at this in the future.
So the hole turned out to be a way too big left to right but I’ll make it work with the boot that I have. Here’s some pictures.
I don’t have any bushings in the shifter yet so these pictures show the stick at its farthest point in 2H (forward position) and 4L (back position). I think when I get...
Thanks for the replies!
There is definitely no removable cover on my 86. I actually left a gap in my dyna mat for the purpose of cutting in the cab floor.
This transmission and t-case were out of an 89 or 87 brick nose and had the hole in the cab floor similar to the picture Frankenwrench...
Hey y’all!
I have a 1986 F250 that originally was a 2wd with a C6 auto. Some time ago I swapped a 4wd ZF-5 into it and and am in the process of finishing a frame swap for 4wd.
I was wonder if anyone had measurements for the t-case shifter hole in the trans tunnel cover.
I have the BW-1356...
Yes I am using a solid flywheel and have never heard this growling noise before I did this swap. I did install a pilot bearing. Driving yesterday I was having trouble replicating this noise and wasn’t able to make it happen. I’m just going to keep driving on it and I’ll come back if I learn...
I don’t recall there being much of any play but I’m not certain so that could be possible. I was able to find clearance specs but having trouble finding a play specs the service manual.

A couple weeks ago I finished swapping my 2wd C6 for a 4x4 zf5 with the Borg Warner 1356. Donor truck had a south bend solid flywheel in it so I had the flywheel resurfaced and bought new south bend clutch, pressure plate, and throw out bearing.
I replaced the syncros and...
Here’s the kit I used.

The kit provided little 3/16s spacers that I put underneath the coils, you can see the little gold spacer in the pictures. Could those be removed to help correct...
The truck is lifted. I never said that before because I didn’t want people to focus on shit talkin lifting a 2wd. Probably also why my alignment will never be right.
I would like to do a 4x4 swap one day but I need to do a lot more research on that.

Yeah that's what I've settled with. Its gonna be what its gonna be until I do an axle swap.
Not too sure what you wanted to see with the radius arms but here's some pics.
