Yep, just picked up bearing pullers and attachments for my slide hammer and swapped everything out fresh. Went with 26 in-lbs rolling torque. RTV is setting up tonight, fluid going in tomorrow morning and then a long evening cruise to wear it in.
In the process of doing a front wheel bearing and tackling the rear diff pinion bearings. As I have the 44HD it was unclear on rockauto and o'Reilly's as to what I neeeded to order and I got mixed info here.
Front passenger side outer bearing was told it was A35 but the bearing removed was...
Update: I tries soldering the old one after a pressure test and when reinstalled, it spring two more leaks. Most the cores were pretty corroded. I bought the spectra one off rockauto and it looked pretty good out the box. Installed with no leaks. Only complaint is the fan shroud holes had one...
Thanks everyone. Good call @Rdnck84_03 I may cut the fins and see how bad it is. My fear is if one spot is getting rough on a 38 year old rad, more may begin. I will gove soldering a go, worst it does it get me to the dump a few more times and haul some wood before quitting again.
@u2slow when...
Hope everyone is doing well. I just sprung a leak in my radiator last week and after running shroudless to inspect, it is dead center in front of the fan. Radiator express seems to have an OEM one with the correct size, 37x15 core, but at $950 I am interested to see what my options are. I...
As for your water intrusion, I had three areas on mine causing the rust that you have. 1 was the seam beneath the hood cowl allowing water to sneak inside around the steering column to firewall area. 2 was a section of windshield seal that was rotten, that went away when I replaced windshield. 3...
Sort of. I blew a leak on one of my hoses and after redoing my system and adding new coolant, to be safe I swapped the 13lb for a 7lb as recommended by Chillman. Still runs at 190 no matter what I do to it
The reason there is mention of the IP removal is most likely to service or replace it with the injectors. It is not uncommon to have IP issues after new injectors due to the higher pop pressure of the new injectors and the worn out IP.
Currently in my 85 with the vinyl rear seat and only lap belts, I drive both kids all over. What I do is pull the belt all the way to the stop, thread it thru the seat and buckle, then I retract it into the reel. On mine, the lock feature keeps it from coming out so I kneel on the seat to really...
Finally got around to repairing my water temp gauge, wire was cut at firewall. Also removed my broken arm rest and made a set of blackwalnut ones. Went thick to give me a good amount to grab and make me slouch less. Beats having a rusty screw poking my elbow.
I wouldn't pay that, especially with the body lines. Check that angle between cab and bed. And it has that gross blue tint thats probably scratched to heck. And the bra is broken, looks great.
My Corsas have probably 20k on them currently. I rotate them regularly and haven't had bad wear. The only issue I have seen is they like to sit low in the front. I have 50psi front and 70 rear and they look a bit squishy. No complaints otherwise!
My truck has a back up beeper right behind the rear tank filler neck. I didn't know until I replaced the the reverse switch on the trans. Drove me nuts trying to find it.
My reservoir hose clamp was loose and when pressure would build or burp it would shoot a bit out towards the fan and fling everywhere. Took me a bit to figure out, thankfully I didn't get into testing the rad or replacing.
Whats that quote from the native:
"Only the government could believe if you cut the bottom of a blanket and sew it on top will the blanket be longer"
Our kids don't like it, mechanical clocks are a pain to go back an hour, and farm animals dont abide. Arizona has it right!
My plastic bed liner makes it a party every time I drive. I get to play the "what was that" game and usually have to climb in under my cap to grab stuff.
What I assume, have not done, is to shim the stop where the pedal rests. By placing slight tension on the fork you were recreating the amount someone rests their foot on a pedal which shouldnt be done while driving. Maybe someone else has done it. Until I go look tomorrow, I can't say for sure!
