With you on this, My first F150 never came with a/c since it came from Kentucky. I grew up in Southwest Louisiana and so even to this day always drive my vehicles with the drivers window down even if it is 100+ degrees when I am now in deep east Texas heat just like before. that F150 I drove it...
Yes I caught that also after I reread the instructions and am going to try it again with it in the high position and yes it was already set at 20 deg for the offset.
Yeah I will be looking to get a couple turnbuckles. Just still need to get my readings stable. I have watched his videos a couple times.
Thank you though.
Grove is very clean I checked it, I did the business card to gap it but may try the dollar bill or sheet of paper to gap it. Something definitely isn't reading right. The number one line is sanded for about 2" to 3" and then I cleaned it up with alchohol. The RPM's with the wife holding it to 2k...
Well I finally got to try to start to work on it, Family life, work and work having me go to a graduate school isn't helping with time. lol Got the magnetic pick-up to fit and started to run it to see what it came up with. You can see in the pics some of the readings I was getting. I think...
Thanks and the guy I brought it to was doing this on the side and I highly doubt he has one. Most shops around here treat it like an ugly step child and I was hoping to just let him do it do but now I am learning it and I do have to do what Steven said and mill it out some to fit the probe. Once...
IDIBRONCO - Yeah I saw some for about double that price so I was just making sure and checking for scams. I did see that seller also for about $20 cheaper. Looks like he is in New Orleans.
Chillman88- copy that is good to know.
That's good to know. Definitely leaning towards getting it just to be able to learn more about this motor and just be able to work on it.
What vendor did yall get yours from?
This is it running after I took it up the road a half mile or so and it was smoking. look at the return lines going to the pump and filter and no bubbles appear. So i would say the system should be sealed now.
Hey guys, been lurking for a while and reading a bunch but some things are hard to learn with out having the ability to learn from someone. I'm having a hard time figuring out if my issue us timing or injectors. I do not have much experience with diesals so I'm still learning.
The history of...
Depending on what kind of cover you are looking for you may want to check out this series that Gale Banks did on diff cover research. This is the first in the series of videos on what they looked at and it is pretty impressive to see what the fluid dynamics happens in the diff.
Yes the bars help a lot. I just put in some old style L&L bars that worked well while running 38.5"x14.50' swampers ( https://www.landlproducts.com/ladder-bars)
This was after my solid axle conversion with them and 39.5" TSL
As far as the spacing from the front to the back all 4wd trucks...
My advice would be to make sure you run ladder bars or some type of anti-wrap device so you don't break the axle or crack the springs. Just something to think about if you go to ride trails or play in the mud.
They will look good but the crease body line being off between the cab and bed is a tale tale sign they are bad on this body style. They all do this and are a pia to replace. Tomorrow I'll get a picture of my 93 and the cab is the same just not as pronounced.
That is about the usual slack as others have said. The outer end is held in the center by the locking hub. on the back side it is just a rubber seal and needle bearing that is on the inside of the spindle. if anything the needle bearings are dust by now. but since it doesn't look like that has...
All, I'm fairly new to diesels so I am looking for advise/ideas.
I have a 1993 7.3 IDI that i just had the glow plugs changed and the injection pump timing cover resealed. Before this all was good except for my cold starts and the bad leak from the injection pump cover.
Now though it starts...
