I found mine was under the rear box and was pinched to the frame. Re-routed everything fine now.

    Fuel selector plug voltages

Well if finally broke down and bought the Standard Fuel Selector valve with the switch and plug. The mounting bracket was at a 45 degree angle which did not allow it to be bolted up to the frame. Why it was at a 45 is beyond me. But.....its in and working and I am pulling fuel from the back...

    DTI 3300 timing issues

Buy the timing light, it makes it so much easier. I could not get mine to work without the timing light either.

    Fuel selector plug voltages

Cubey, I took the switch apart again to show you what I'm talking about. I check for continuity between the lugs in the first pic. None connect together internally. So in the first pic on the left the red wire would be on the upper right lug, the orange, brn/w , black are on the other side of...

    Fuel selector plug voltages

Cubey, I appreciate your patients with me. I am sending a poor drawing, lol, of how the switch is on the inside. There are two copper bars that are meant to connect two terminals together at the same time. The switch moves a plastic block that has the bars on it with springs to keep it...

    Fuel selector plug voltages

Cubey here is a pic of the back of the selector switch showing the wires. If you have ever taken the switch apart I don't see any way for the red wire to connect to any other wire in the plug. The red does not cross over in the switch like a dpdt switch does in your pic. The red would connect...

    Fuel selector plug voltages

Thanks Goat, I hear nothing when i flip to the back tank. On my selector switch i have the red wire on only one side. The orange is adjacent next to the red, brown below the orange, and black on the bottom under the orange. I had the selector switch apart and I cannot understand how the red...

Ok new selector valve but still no rear tank. Are there solenoids involved in the wiring?

Do the FSV ground to the frame? Or is it done through the wiring?

    Steering Column

Well the steering column is back like it was supposed to be........maybe im too old to be doing this stuff lol, I found a snap ring that I could not figure out where it went. After getting the rear bearing in place i pulled the steering shaft up and low and behold there was a grove for the snap...

    Steering Column

Well I figured that with the steering wheel tight it should be ok but then it puts a bind on the turn signal device. And its a new one, with the steering wheel off it works perfect, with it on it binds a little.

    Steering Column

Yes I did and I did come up but what would keep it from dropping back down and start rubbing on turn signal?

    Steering Column

Well I finally got the upper steering "u-joint" adjusted. All the slop is gone. Now the problem I am experiencing is I cannot get the bottom bearing up inside the housing????? I am posting a picture. Anyone know why I cannot get this up any higher? I have the steering shaft up as far as I...

Thanks Cubey Do you know if there is a solenoid involved with the switch?

    Fuel selector plug voltages

Just pulled my front and back tank and cleaned the fuel hat debris from each tank and cleaned them out. Going to try to get the FSV working but would like to know the voltages at the plug when switching from front to back. I checked the plug with the front tank selected and I get an...

Thanks WrenchWhore. It actually looked good but the smell was a little off.

Old fuel. Should you run it or pitch it.

I had fuel in the rear tank for about 3-4 years. The FSV is bad and was wondering if I should run the fuel after cleaning out the tank or pitch it? The fuel is a yellow/green color and is clear. Doesnt smell real bad. If I put some diesel extreme in it would it be safe to run it? Thanks Ronw435

No reading on the DTI 3300s

Well update on getting my 86 6.9 timed. Got the timing light and finally got it timed. Had to set it 9.0 BTDC as about the only way i could go any further was to loosen all the injection lines which I didnt see any reason to do. I had to set it about a nickels width towards the drivers side...

No reading on the DTI 3300s

Thanks guys, I went back out and tried it several more times with the probe. No results! Going to wait for the timing light. Should be here next week. I get a steady rpm reading but after the -20 stops flashing it stays steady at -20. Timing light should be the answer.
