how big and how much horsepower

I wasn't trying to insult you, but obviously you are feeling (more than) a little defensive about dropping a ton of cash for your little grocery hauler. 4 "rreal" doors is a small consolation for what I estimate to be at least a 6" narrower passenger compartment. Furthermore, in...

    Code PO 121 any suggestions?

I feel so violated.:( However, no 'mo codes.:D BTW: A 1-1/4" deep-well socket is the only thing that will remove and install the MAP. Had to make a quick run to NAPA, in the wife's rig, to get one.

$63,000.00 semolians is about twice as much as I would be willing to pay for it. Looks like when it comes time to buy, we will get another Cummins.:D

    Code PO 121 any suggestions?

I had my frienly local 5-star dealer check it today. They said that both the APPS and the MAP sensor were failed. I guess the failed MAP was where the excessive voltage was coming from on IVS#2. I have them both on order. The dealer said that I would have to pay two hours labor to do the...

    Code PO 121 any suggestions?

Just talked to Scott. He said it is most likely the APPS. I'm going to try to find someone with a scan tool to double-check before I drop the 4 bills. :(

    Dynomax exhaust

Did mine a while back. Everyday at the commuter lot, I set off a couple car alarms. As an expat, we used to always call that the national anthem of Venezuela. ;)

    Code PO 121 any suggestions?

Well, did the cleaning, still had the problem. I performed the checks per my manual and found APPS supply under 5.5V, but IVS#2 to block was 4.67V. Over 4.5V, the manual says to "repair short to voltage". Anyone seen this before? I haven't called Mass Diesel yet, obviously. I plan...

    Code PO 121 any suggestions?

truckstom No, we have just recieved around $90 million for our yearly budget here at work, so I haven't even had time to check this site. MYTRNx3 Are you able to see the actual rheostat or potentiometer when you take it apart, or is it sealed within the plastic box? Do you take the...

    Code PO 121 any suggestions?

Well, on my way back, the dam thing dropped out seven times. Looks like I'll be trying the diagnostic TMTT talked about. If I can't find it in my manual, I'll call Scott tomorrow.

REALLY nice add-on for those that change their oil

I like the idea of the EZ drain like fishin said. I spend too much time and mess trying to pour my old oil out of the bucket back into the old containers.

    Coolant Change

I swapped to the Rotella ELC (extended life coolant) before the Cummins stuff came out. It was only $7.50 / gal premixed. It said it was good for 600,000 mi with and extender added at 300,000 mi. Plus, it has a nice tropical punch kool-aid color, and I don't have to drive to the crappy...

    Code PO 121 any suggestions?

Thanks guys. I didn't know about letting the truck sit for 30 minutes, I just unhooked the batteries, ranged the accelerator and connected the batteries again. I'll try that procedure this weekend, then the voltage test if that does not work. As a last resort, I'll unhook the EZ (almost as...

    Code PO 121 any suggestions?

Every now and then, the rig acts like I completely let off the accelerator while I am pushing it with my foot or even in cruse control. Also the check engine light comes on. Went to Auto Zone and their reader said P1693 (trouble code detected in ECM) and PO121 (accel position sensor volts do...

Optimas - are they worth it?

I agree with Bill. I have had them for two years now and no problems or mess (not even any post corrosion). I was out of town when the battery went out in my Wife's 460 F250 or it would have an Optima in it as well.

how big and how much horsepower

Thats the only place I have found it. They don't mention the V10 TDI on the US site. I used to work in Eastern Europe a lot, so I can "kind of" read German. Enough to know what power and torque are anyway.

I'm waiting for the... V10 TDI Touareg.:D :D :D Tuareg on Deuschland VW site. I heard they will be selling here in the 2005 model year, but I have not confirmed it with a dealer yet. 228 kw (307.5 hp); 750 N*m (558 ft*lbf) Now thats Fukengruven. :Thumbs Up

    Rotella DFA

I use mostly the John Deere additives now. Here is a comparison SWRI Test I posted all this crap in the one about Howes lubricant. I like the JD stuff because it is the closest you can get to Stanadyne additive (best), and you can get it at any JD dealer a little cheaper than the...

    "HOWES LUBRUCATOR" Question

I have used Howes lubricator since my first lift pump died at 83K miles. The latest one lived around 72,000 miles, so I can't say it is much better than others on lubrication. I am going to start using John Deere additives exclusively in the future. In my opinion, Stanadyne is the best, but...
