I ran a Barry Grant bypass return system when I was still racing. It is so much quieter and easier on the pump not to be "pushing" against the regulator.I have been off my feet for two months, itching to get back to tinkering on my junk.Next project is a good lift system and return.I am still...
It appears the only difference is the solenoid. The rig mechanic pulled up a master catalog, the windings/armature are the same part number.Ohms law says amps=watts÷volts. 4.2kw÷24=175 amps or 4.2kw÷12=350amps
1 horsepower equals 746 Watts.So a 4.2kw starter produces 5.6 horsepower. if you look...
My son had to move the m1031 this morning. Even at -5 he said it made a pretty clean start. It was so cold last night we left everything on location running. I listen to the big caterpillar mud pumps fire up after service this morning, I don't know what they have for a starter but they sure do spin.
Which by the way I have six virgin Michelin xzl mil spec 39"s with run-flats stashed away.lol Hoping that tall tire Knox part of that 5.88:1 gear ratio out of the the m715
I can only imagine. We look at some Humvees that were in Pennsylvania. Almost all of them had a bad frame rails in the rear , which may be why they were put up for sale. Looks to me like the good buy right now is the Stewart and Stevenson cabovers with the caterpillar.you couldn't buy the tires...
I'm too poor for a Humvee..lol.. I know they are the rage right now, but I don't really like them. My father and I bought about 20 M35a2's and several 5 tons for resale. We had quite a few m715 s as well as 1028s and 31s. Out of all of them the m715 is my favorite. I have one sitting in epoxy...
Ren, allow s me to use any of the military trucks to jump or be jumped universally. My IDI truck is falling into the utility realm here.Would be nice to add a NATO slave to the IDI to match the fleet so to speak.
Really for me it allows me to jump,or power up all but one of my trucks using the NATO slave and cables. The m1031 has my emergency gen set, which is PTO driven. So it has to be readily available to be jumped.Standardized is really my goal.
No loss, just thinking about a standardized fleet. Those NATO slaves/cables are so convienient.Just plug and go.Renj..i can pick up 12 volts in the series circuit between batteries.
Thanks Thewes..I think I may find something part time.No travel.I have a client in the Texas panhandle asking me to come down a couple times a year, but other than loyalty to them I am staying home.lol
I can pull 12 volts between the two batteries in series.Just feed the cab as normal.Getting ready to retire in a few months. My IDI truck is being built to last me I hope for the rest of my life as a utility vehicle. All of my trucks except my Dodge and this IDI have a NATO 24 volt slave in the...
Well,it appears that an SAE 3 24 volt motor will fit our gear reduction nose cone.Looks like a $350 conversion including alternator/reg. conversion. Physically the same size motor.
No..just the starter is 24v. the glow plugs are fed off of a big resistor Bank. The starter is same size as the 12 volt unit. I did know if any of the larger trucks use 24 volt. Again that thing really spins fast. Of course the two batteries are in series, but there is a lead that takes off...
My m1031 has a 24 volt starter. It rolls really fast regardless of temperature. Got me to thinking if there is one available for 7.3s? I'm stranded on location. Lots of time to think about this stuff.lol
I honestly believe the harder a diesel has been worked the longer it will last. My 04 Dodge has just shy of five hundred thousand miles, don't know the hours because it clocked out at 10 thousand. It truly runs and sounds like the day I got it.
No.. our first 7.3 powerstrokes all outlasted the bodies. And they were towing everyday. We had many that we're approaching 400,000 miles that the bodies were just shot. But the engines still ran well. None of them were turned up. Plus the idle time.. I'm stuck on location right now and my truck...
Go find some crude oil.Buy off top of tank for about $1.50/gallon.BTU content is higher than diesel, runs smooth and cheap.I must stress off the top of the tank..no water issues as the water settles to the bottom.
