I have a 1984 f250 with a radiator that got in the fan and chewed up the core.
I too contemplated on which way to go, replace or recore.
I finally bit the bullet and had mine recored.
The local shop that did the work, builds and repairs rads as big as a wall, and have been in business here for...
I went through 2 interstate batteries in my wife's van that had short lives. Replaced with a Walmart.
I had a WalMart battery in my daily driver F150 it lasted 7 years.
Until proven otherwise WalMart is where I go now.
Obviously the van and the 376k mile F150 dont require the same cranking...
Well I thought I had a good lead on a "reasonable" re-core for my original radiator.
I was quoted $680.
From what I have read on here over the past many months this is probably in the ballpark.
Also from what I have read on here, it seems the aluminum rads are lasting 3-5 years.
If I can get...
Yes twin I beam.
I'm Just looking to raise the body about an inch to allow a little more clearance for the down pipe etc.
Don't want to raise the suspension.
Hey guys I am in the process of rehabbing my 2 wheel drive single cab 1984. I will be pulling the bed to install one of Wes's 38 gal tanks.
So I thought I would like to get a body lift kit to raise it an additional 1" and just replace all bushings on the truck to get a little extra clearance
I...
That's exactly what I'm doing. Just can't justify spending what they want for a new truck, even one 4-5 years old, plus pay someone $100-125an hour to work on it.
My wife wanted to buy me a truck and I told her to give me what she would spend on a truck and I'll build my own.
So I'm building my...
I just got the time to measure and there is .042 difference in length. The e-bay pushrods are longer than my original 6.9 pushrods.
That's why I was wondering if the ratio was the same. If the ratio is the same I will run my original pushrods.
Like I said I got these off of e-bay and the seller...
I bought a used set of "new style" rockers on e-bay supposedly from a 7.3 and they came with a set of push rods.
The rockers looked fine but the push rods were longer than my original 6.9 push rods.
So I was wondering if the 7.3 rockers have the same ratio as the 6.9 rockers.
Last October on our way back from vacation we went past this guy pulling a full grown trailer house down our road. Not sure how much they weigh.
I think he only towed it about half a mile but most of it was up hill.
He started to back it in to the spot but supposedly blew a fuel line and this...
Take it slow, listen to your body. Pain/discomfort is a built-in alert mechanism, take of your body and it will take care of you.
Hoping for a speedy recovery for you!!
This is the same drawing I made mine from, except I put a little more point on the driver pin to mimic the indentation of the factory freeze plug.
I copied the shape of the indentation on the plug then made the driver pin the same shape.
As stated earlier in this thread, the critical measurement...
Thanks guys for the input!!
I have a 1982 F150, 351w, T-18.
Manual linkage, 220k miles, never had one minute of problems from it and I occasionally overloaded it pulling various loads. (Nowadays would probably be jailed if caught by the DOT)
I will try the hyd system.
Also I am upgrading to a...
I am searching for input from y'all on whether it is feasible to convert my 1984 F250 from hyd clutch linkage to mechanical.
Right now the engine is out of the truck and the hyd clutch system either needs a kit or replacement.
I'm thinking there is less to go wrong with mechanical linkage as...
