Finally figured it out! When I went to pull the injectors to send them back I pulled the very last one out and for some reason it hadn't sealed correctly. Cleaned both injector and bore and now runs smooth.
Thanks for the help!
So your truck is N/A at this point, correct?
Compression is even, but what are the numbers? Perhaps the reason it had a turbo at one point was to make up for a worn engine? How many miles on the truck/engine?
You cracked the lines to check the injectors, the question is, can you tell a dead miss...
Sorry guys just jumped back on to check. I was meaning when you are reading through forums on peoples problems and you never learn if the actual problem was fixed or they gave up
I am assuming the injectors can not be sent back now, so who would be the best to get injectors from?
Update: took to reputable shop to test timing because I am impatient. They said they set it to 9* BTDC and my adjustment when I brought it in was at 6*. Runs the same but still has a shake at idle. Exhaust is not rubbing as well. I have decided to just drive it and realize its 30 years old...
Wouldn't that give other symptoms as well? Blue smoke or anything?? And And they all seem to effect the truck the exact same when the cap is loosened.
Good information to know as well!
Lined up pump to marks last night and it sounded like my PSD in -40 degrees! Im at a loss. Right now I am about halfway more advanced than the picture above. I could hear the cold advance kick in this morning for about 5 mins or so it seemed then went away..
Now that I am thinking about it.. When I put the IP in I started at static timing, but right now I think it is set at something like 1 inch advanced. Now you have me questioning my abilities. I am going to go out to take a picture.
Timing feels right on, and does not change the feel if it is changed.. :( Right now I get a tiny bit of black on full throttle, and no smoke otherwise.
Hey Guys,
New to the forum. I have searched and searched but was not able to find anything that is like this particular case.
My truck is a 1990 (N/A) 7.3. It has since had a hypermax T4 turbo setup at some point in time. Not too long ago I replaced the IP and injectors (maybe 300 miles)...
