24v hp/tq reliability question (truck building ?'s)
I'll try to answer what I can from memory. However, keep in mind, I have a dually, so my numbers would be about 25 hp less than yours with a similar setup. With; HX-40, BD3 injectors, Comp box, 4" full exhaust I made 425 rwhp / 899 ftlbs torque. Much more than you want. Stage 2 injectors...- Batman

advice & whats it worth

2001 3500 brake line size ???
Hello all, Need some help. Does anyone know the exact size of ALL of the hard brake lines? I believe it is 3/16", but am unsure. Is it the same size through out the truck? Thanks in advance g- Batman

53 castings..........I believe they had a core issue when they were made which caused one of the sides to have a thinner wall than they should have. LOL @ Whitmore great idea for the stock lift pump- Batman

Why didn't you go with PS fluid? Anyway, the way I flushed mine is as follows: 1. Use a turkey baster to suck out as much as possible 2. fill with new fluid 3. start truck and turn wheel lock to lock a couple times 4. repeat steps 1-3 until fluid looks like it is all new hth g- Batman

just bought 1999 dodge 3500 5.9
Welcome.......... 1St - you need gauges - minimum Fuel pressure and EGT - especially since you will be towing. Sweet spot is 1900-2200 rpm's, you get the best economy and you are right in the middle of the torque band. hth- Batman

sorry, can't help with the nozzle question, I've only changed complete injectors. Smoke, mostly depends on how hard you press on the loud peddle, and the lag of your turbo. I have BD3 injectors, they are a smokey injector, more so than other brands. (they are 100 hp) I can create a very good...- Batman

I wouldn't waste your money on getting BOTH a Smarty and an EZ. I've had both, and still have the Smarty. The EZ is a very good product, but, you have more flexibility with the Smarty. And, the Smarty allows you to do other things, read and clear codes, adjust for tire size, etc...- Batman

Fuel and Boost
I have a modified HX40 on mine, and I can only muster 38PSI out of it. I had to add a boost elbow to it to get it to there, prior to I could only get about 30 I called the manufacturer, they couldn't explain. BTW, I made 425/899 with Bd3 inj.,and an Edge comp. HTH- Batman

HX40 is a direct mount on the manifold........however, you will need a new down pipe. BTW, I have a used one I'm willing to let go for a good price....pm me. good luck G- Batman

Which Fuel Pressure Gauge
I agree with Czechsix. I've had mechanical right into the cab, and have had issues with the needle bouncing, the isolator worked great to correct this. Not dissing Whitmore, I hadn't heard of his idea when I bought the isolator, or I would have tried that. HTH- Batman

Need more power!
Bear, any of the lower power adders will work well without you needing to upgrade your clutch, if your easy on it. These usually ad 60hp and wake these trucks up a bit. Of course, changing your air cleaner and going to at least a 4" exhaust will help keep things from getting too hot. The...- Batman

1999 dodge cummins shifting problem
Back when I had a DTT trans and TC, they had suggested not to go into 4th until at elast 45-50 (depending on rear gear). You may be 'lugging' the motor at those speeds causing the computer to down shift, then up, and back. HTH- Batman

turbo, injectors, the works
Not sure if I can help much.......... I had 425 rwhp & 899 ft lbs on my last trip to the dyno. This was with the following: 2001 4x4 dually - auto w/DTT BD3 injectors Edge comp Piers HX40 I here the newer turbo's flow more and allow for higher horsepower. Also, stage 4 or 5 injectors...- Batman

1999 Dodge Ram Cummins won't start
This may sound dumb, are you sure you have fuel? Have you nticed your fuel gauge not working properly? There seems to be a lot of fuel floats going bad lately. Mine would not read well below 1/2 tank. Just an idea.- Batman

Same as both above, Love it! It's supposed to be about the same as an EZ (as stated). You can always add a fueling box later, if it's not enough for you. I have BD3's, HX-40, 6 spd, and a Smarty. Great to tow, or haul! George- Batman
