nj_m715, That's pretty much the same design as my Skamper. The limited factory docs and PO claim 1300lb dry but the scale says it's 1800 wet and ready to go camping. Like Cubey said it's definitely worth checking the bed mounting bolts but otherwise I think mounting to the bed/rails is fine. No doubt frame mounts are stronger but the tie downs on the camper side are going to give first anyway. Mine's an 84 and i'm not sure when they started thinning out...- Naz4x4

I wouldn't worry too much about the truck side of the mounting situation, there are plenty of options and you'll figure something out. Just bring some heavy straps along in case the PO's system doesn't work for you. The mounts on the camper however look pretty dodgy to me as does the wood they...- Naz4x4

I have a small pop-up style truck camper and my 84 F-250 hauls it around no problem. That said, if I were planning on living on the road I'd seriously consider a small trailer instead. Correct transfer case fluid/oil
I'm checking/changing all the fluids on my "new to me" 1984 f-250. Everything I've read to this point suggests that the transfer case needs ATF but what came out of it sure looks like gear oil to me. Could someone confirm what I should be filling this thing with?- Naz4x4

What to do with a "spare" 6.9L block?
I just purchased a 1984 F-250 that came with about 1500lb worth of spare parts including a second block (minus the heads). Some of it I'm keeping but I really don't have the space to store the block and no good way of handling this monster. Any ideas on how to get it into the hands of someone...- Naz4x4
