thanks, guys for the good tips. As soon as I can afford the oil for my truck I'll use them. Oil products, along with fuel have gone crazy. All of us diesel owners are getting the shaft but good.- CEDRICWARD

@Austin86250 Thanks, but I already know that. My bracket won't allow me to hold the dipstick tube in the proper angle to keep it in the hole nor will it allow the tube to thread around the exhaust manifold without falling out. My 85 F350 6.9 diesel engine lost its oil dipstick so I can't measure the oil without getting under the truck and putting a backup dipstick down the hole in the block. Get ready to have lots of fun. Fords are notorious for shorting out. Most shorts are at the fuse box. I have mine all torn out and have been trying to find an entire wire harness for YEARS. Remove injectors without removing pump?
If you disconnect your hard lines from your injectors BE VERY CAREFUL to NOT change the angle of the threaded nut that attaches to the injectors or you may cross thread them when you re-attach them. Saburai, I understand that issue. My 85 F350 takes forever to fill either tank because they both vent poorly. Injector lines barely spitting fuel
I recently replaced my injectors, glow plugs, got a re-built injector pump and all soft fuel lines between injectors. I found that some of my hard lines between the IP and the injectors were plugged up when I blew in them. Cleaned them out with PB Blaster and compressed air. Check them for blockage.- CEDRICWARD

Looking for help in Fresno Ca
I would be inclined to think that the truck is not timed correctly because the IP was removed and possibly re-installed incorrectly. Also, were the IP hard fuel lines from the pump to the injectors run to the correct injectors?- CEDRICWARD

If you have a Schrader valve (like a tire valve) on the fuel filter you can loosen the stem in it (you need a valve tool to do this) and put a cup under it to catch any fuel that comes out while you BRIEFLY crank the engine without waiting for the glow plugs to get hot.
