    Under no circumastances do I eevr have any black smoke. I do not consider my truck slow unloaded, but when towing 5000 lbs it can be sluggish. I was wondering if I can turn up the fuel untill I have a little black smoke at fuel throttle under load, or is this dangerous? (1985, N/A)

    I am not sure about that one, but most oil filters have a pressure bypass, because dirty oil is better then no oil. this is not the case with fuel. You want a dirty filter to clog. and your truck to stop running, before sending dirty fuel through the IP.
