FS: Engine, engine parts (mostly 6.9)

Somebody else may be interested in the tach. PM sent to 93f250idi. I was at the post office yesterday, and just for anyones info who ships, the person there told me rates are going up soon. A lot. About 30% for what I was shipping. They were cheaper than UPS! James

FS: Engine, engine parts (mostly 6.9)

I have not weighed that package. Estimation puts it at less than $10. I lived outside of Nashville for awhile, you are in a nice spot but I hear it gets busy. I will be at the storage facility this evening and will take it to the post office tomorrow AM. James

FS: Engine, engine parts (mostly 6.9)

Two people have now backed out on the instrument cluster. Shipping on this thing should not be more than $15-$20 continental US. The last person I got a quote for it was about $10. All I want is shipping. No, I can't guarantee it's functionality. Neither can those guys on ebay. I am offering...

FS: Engine, engine parts (mostly 6.9)

Probably nothing. I was going to delete this but that is not an option. I am in deals about the cluster, everything else either is gone or went to someone who will list parts availability when they are able. Probably also if someone asks. When I officially unload this last item, I will post...

FS: 83-86 instrument cluster w/tach, 6.9 inj lines I see things are well here. I have a lot of things that I accumulated over the years with high hopes and it didn't work out, I have to get rid of them now. Not really looking for more than shipping, just don't want to throw anything away. I...

    Head To Piston Clearance

Maybe you need to degree the time your pistons are level with the deck, at 50% above deck and 50% returning to level. This should give you a better idea of what you have to work with. Also you could fab a couple deckplates. Common on larger engines, see no reason why you couldn't make it work...

    Head To Piston Clearance

I'm thinking I like clay better. Washes off pretty easy, could be reused. Couldn't chew it when you were done  but maybe I will use it next time. James

    Head To Piston Clearance

;Sweet Just telling you some stuff I knew worked. Not supposed to chew the gum LOL that way it won't stick. 2 gaskets so you can do all eight cyls. Didn't know how picky you were getting :) Unless you are going for a cam grind or something that affects valve-to-piston clearance, I think you...

    Cops truck recycled again

Positive temp coefficient. Resistance increases as temp increases. 81 or 82 I believe is the first year for the fast burn system in 350 diesels. My 80 didn't have it, my bonneville does but it may have been changed. They made key changes in each of the first few years. James

    No Go, Lots of smoke!!!

You aren't getting enough air, may not be able to stock. Stock wastegate opens at about 25 psi, not recommended that you plug it off. The edge box apparently won't read above 25.6 or 26.7 depending on make or model (or something). Maybe get a gage. You can make a deal that will bleed off the...

    air leak problem

If it is air maybe you need to look further back in the system. Loose connection? Senders rotted? Fuel pump got a hole in the diaphragm? James

    Gas in a diesel?

Sounds sort of like a lanova cell. I thought that technology was gone by the time those engines were produced  James

Turned on defroster A/C clutch smoking

Should be able to pull it off without recovering what's in the system. If not many ford compressors had shutoff valves on the compressors that you can use to limit your losses. Espeecially if you can get the compressor to work for a few minutes. James

    air leak problem

If there is crap on the check valve though it would be indicative of a possible pump problem. If you are having vibes like that maybe you should also look at your injectors. Bring it up to an rpm it shakes at and start cracking them, one at a time. Does it smoke? See if that makes the smoke go...

    air leak problem

That line probably would be ok if it moves with pressure, only thing keeping it from moving if the seal. The line should be able to support itself if left 'hanging.' It shouldn't really cause an air leak when running, it is on the pressure side of the system and the lift pump exceeds the demands...

I may have sold the IDI to a relative of the guys in Canada!!

He didn't get it that dirty doing landscaping. He was fooling around  It IS possible to have a good time, get a truck muddy, and not blow your truck up. Probably a little rough on certain wear items  Maybe he came across something he couldn't pass up. People do it in brand new...

    fuel system happenings...

Yeah, with that rear tank being that full, that's a lot of fuel to siphon out while you're trying to fiddle with cheesy clips retaining the fuel lines to the valve. If you can get to them you can disconnect the lines at the tanks. If you can get to them. Might want to stock up on those clips too...
