    OBS bumper differences F250/F350

My factory 1993 IDIT F250 (C code/8th VIN digit) had the OEM front bumper with the two wide vents and a narrower one in the middle (makes room for the front license plate). I replaced it with one exactly the same from a OBS PSD, year unknown. I don't know whether there are differences between...

    Eco-Boost?

I borrowed a relative's 2013 F150 Ecoboost to fetch my broken down Volvo 850 (fuel pump) and thought it made decent power for a V6, given the relatively light load. Towed the car on a Uhaul trailer for 125 miles very adequately and smoothly on flat south Texas ground, and having all the creature...

Facet/Carrier lift pump on inner fender. Good idea?

FWIW, here's some pics of my installation. Plenty of room between the bowl and the frame. I put the relay to the right of the fender solenoid.

Facet/Carrier lift pump on inner fender. Good idea?

I installed mine right on the support bracket for the passenger side battery, half between the engine and the radiator. It was difficult to wedge a cordless drill down there to drill the mounting holes but I managed. I thought I'd keep the inner passenger fender area free for when I install a...

    Harbor freight comp testor.

FWIW, this is the setup I use. The gauge is actually pretty good quality, and I really like the price. It's better than the HF leak-down setup I bought for gassers and broke right away. I just chucked the VW-specific adapter that comes with it into the odd-tools drawer and bought one of the S&G...

1978 F250 Supercab 4x4 12 valve Cummins Diesel in TX

I have no connection with this sale, just found it on CL and thought it was a cool rig. Kind of strange that a P-pump would crap out and he doesn't want to mess with swapping it even though he has one on hand. If I knew anything about 12 valves I'd be going to look at it, though...

Help me ID this turbo intake horn

Good to know about the oil through the flywheel bolts. I was thinking main seal, that shows ya what I know  I guess if the level came up due to oil overfilling it creates the leak and the risk of a runaway? Would overfilling hurts much otherwise? What about if it's water while it's...

Cool, thanks! Too bad he didn't want to part with only the turbo bits, looks like a nice part to have for if'n when an IC...

Help me ID this turbo intake horn

Thanks, that makes sense seeing how it sticks out way up high. No, I didn't buy it. I went to look at it because he said it was a '94 factory IDIT, but checking the serial it was a regular N/A. I already have a spare N/A engine and he didn't want to sell the turbo bits separate, so I let it be.

Help me ID this turbo intake horn

Found this intake/horn at a shop in town and it doesn't look like the Sidewinder setups I've seen. Just wondering what kind it might be. All they could tell me is the engine is from a fummins conversion done elsewhere.

Coolant Filter Head twenty bucks and Compression Tester

It figures right after I bought my IH brand coolant filter head I ran into these on fleabay for $20 shipped, so I thought I'd pass it along in case anyone is looking for one. They are apparently similar to Fleetguard Part# 020416300S. I have not used these but my thinking is that a filter head...

Fuel problem has everyone around here stumped.. Please Help!

It's too hot to work outside, so here's some thoughts. Most of them have been mentioned above. -I'd make sure I didn't blow up the diaphragm in the lift pump. Replace if lift pump is toast. -I'd check for diesel in oil due to above. Change oil and filter if contaminated with diesel. -Rig a...

My light bulb burnt out, please help with my HydroBoost.

Did you install the steering pump cover with the two return inlets to plumb the returns individually, or did you tee them together before returning to the pump? I've seen a few mentions of dragging brakes due to teeing the returns. :dunno Or maybe the new to the truck rear calipers are sticking...

    Uhaul Hydroboost

A couple of weeks ago I ordered a new Motorcraft BRB37 from RockAuto for $233, but I just looked and the price is now $268. :dunno Did a search for a 93 F Superduty to find it. It's a 33.33 mm bore and included the pushrod that goes to the MC.

Compression Testing with engine on stand

On the last episode I got my truck running in spite of having several low-compression jugs and a heat-soaking IP. I also had my eye on a 7.3IDI turbo engine core at the junkyard for a rebuild. I'm not so sure I'm going to go get that engine core anymore because I found a craigslist ad for a...

    Choosing a core for rebuild

Yeah, I think the last digit may be covered up by valley pan. I just checked the size of the turbo oil line fitting that goes on the top rear of the block. I compared it with a 1/4" NPT connector for air tools and it's the same size, so it seems it's a turbo block. So, if I have to resleeve...

    Choosing a core for rebuild

I made it out to the junkyard today just to see if the core I want is still there. I took some pics to show y'all and see what you think. This is the block number. The last digit appears to be covered by the valley pan, but the 7.3T part and how it begins with 115 makes me think it is indeed...

    Choosing a core for rebuild

Well, I'll be. You're right. I just checked again and it indeed shows it as a NA engine. I don't remember what vin decoder I used when I got the truck but I've had it wrong all along. Thanks for catching that. ;Sweet

    Choosing a core for rebuild

Cool, thanks for the info and getting back to me ;Sweet I'll snag a friend and go pull that turbo engine. It's been a couple of weeks so I hope they haven't crushed it.

    Choosing a core for rebuild

My 93 F250 is has a C-code VIN, so it came out of the factory with a IDIT block. The engine currently in the truck has been swapped to a NA engine, it's stamped U2U961627. I searched this board and it shows it to be a NA engine. Since I have only 200 psi compression in jug No. 8, I'm looking for...
