Dana 60 Spindle Needle Bearing Seal National SBK3

I suspect you will be pleased when comparing the new stuff to the SBK3 kit. The only reason I know is I tried the same thing when rebuilding a D44 TTB (which uses different seal numbers from referenced above due to smaller axle) in ordering what I thought was a (best) full kit of parts. The...

Dana 60 Spindle Needle Bearing Seal National SBK3

The SBK3 kit you purchased and linked to from 4wheelparts looks to be the old style of inner and outer spindle seal. The roller bearing you have installed is good. I would however suggest to ditch the seal parts from the SBK3 kit and instead order SKF 21918 for the outer and SKF 14634 for...

    zf5 trouble

What is a grind type syncro? Reverse gear on the ZF mainshaft is synchronized. View the last picture in this post to see the 5th/reverse syncro body with the reverse blocker ring (synchronizer) still installed. Now I won't say its easy to force it into reverse if the output shaft is still...

Spongey brake pedal after replacing hoses and calipers

The motorcraft calipers I installed had an R or L cast into appropriate the calipers...and I still screwed it up first time. Same symptoms as you. Bled and bled and bled and got a little air each time but pedal never firmed up. Swapped them side for side and done in an hour.

Spongey brake pedal after replacing hoses and calipers

Stupid question, but did you install the new calipers on the right side? There is a left and right. Don't ask me why I would think to ask this question...:idiot:

ZF5 rollover noise with a twist

My ZF behind a (tired) 351 has rollover when it is warmed up. Can't hear it in the cab but can hear it well standing beside the truck or with your head down there. Thing runs great though so I'm not concerned. I put all new shift forks in mine during the rebuild and everything went back...

All the ZF links are dead in the zf info for the world thread.

Tried to update, must have to get approved first. Bottom of page. http://www.zf.com/na/content/en/united_states/corporate_us/products_services/spare_parts/catalog/catalogs.html

    Found this interesting ford document...

So you are disputing Bernoulli's Principle? Pressure in the system is not fairly consistent. If it were, there would be no flow in the system. The system becomes pressurized due to the expansion of water when heated. There are also localized areas of higher pressure due to the energy...

    Found this interesting ford document...

The orifice in the coolant line to the heater core is to reduce the fluid pressure not the velocity. For incompressible flows (liquid is negligibly compressible), a reduction in the flow area results in a increase in the flow velocity. Mass flow is constant therefore the flow velocity must...

Fudge Monkey, Broken Brake Caliper Bolt

Exactly. If it broke because the threads hung up or it bottomed out, get ready to fight it. If the head popped off because you tried to turn it in too far, whats left in the hole is likely not very tight and will come right out with a left hand drill bit.

    Cowl Drain Rubber Seal

In my estimation, the reason for the plug on the passenger side is to help keep water out of the fresh air inlet for the HVAC system. Right below the plug is the fresh air inlet. If water was to drip through the cowl cover and straight down, it could go right into the fresh air inlet and fill...

    Cowl Drain Rubber Seal

The Ford P/N for the passenger side rubber plug is E0TZ-10020A50-A. Fords habits would lead me to believe the drivers (left) side plug would then be E0TZ-10020A51-A. This number doesn't come back with anything though.

    Cowl Drain Rubber Seal

The thing you are missing is that the numbers molded into the parts are not part numbers. They are engineering numbers, which you cannot use to order replacement parts. Without going to Ford and specifically asking for a drivers side cowl plug for a 96'-97' F250-350, or finding someone with a...

    Cowl Drain Rubber Seal

The drivers side only had a plug for 96-97 trucks. The engineering number is F6TB-15020A51-AA The passenger side engineering number is F2TB-15020A50-AA I don't have a parts manual for 96 light trucks so now way to figure out the actual part numbers. EDIT: Maybe I'm wrong. Some...

clutch push rod heim joint mod

E7TZ-7A554-A is correct for 92-97 F-series pickups and the most current P/N that you will find for the clutch actuation lever. See picture below for exactly what I received when I ordered from the above amazon link. If you are feeling froggy while working there, I would suggest...

    ZF Fluid ?

What years? Is there a corvette section on the site? Do corvettes have a small block ford pattern bellhousing? Do corvettes have 4wd capable transmissions?

    ZF Fluid ?

:confused:Have you seen this thread? http://www.oilburners.net/forums/showthread.php?62490-ZF5-(S5-47)-Transmission-Rebuild What ZF6 has a SBF bellhousing bolt pattern? What ZF6 has the reverse lockout feature built into the shifter hole? Never seen a ZF6 with a case that small.

    ZF Fluid ?

You can see the vent hole here, right in front of where the shifter housing bolts on. I am fairly certain it is tapped 1/8" pipe. You can see the other end of this hole here right between where the two shift rails ride.
  23. K

    ZF Fluid ?

Yes the vent is in front of the shifter housing between the 3-4 and 5-R shift rail detent spring plugs.

    ZF5 Compatibility?

Its the exact same transmission. You can take a look at page 3 of the linked pdf for the interchange. ZF specifies a single P/N for reman for both the list numbers of your transmissions, hence they're identical...

    Help with ZF5 clutch kit

Don't have an answer for you, but if you can get your mechanic to take the clutch kit back off, have him measure the OD of the crankshaft hole, then measure the OD of the input shaft snout. Then search out a double rubber sealed ball bearing instead of the non-sealed needle bearing that comes...
