    new powerstroke owner

If the front fenders are rusty, I found a new pair for my 94 online in one of those online parts supply houses for $240 painted in primer. They were a pain to mount on the truck, but looked really nice after I had them all painted/mounted. There were like 20 screws/bolts on each fender to be...

    Whats your recipe

Yea I think the 100% is a bit too much for the stock pump to handle. I am still experimenting with 50/50 WMO mix in my 99 PSD and actively looking for waste automatic transmission fluid in bulk amounts to be able to run a higher and cleaner percentage. The 50/50 mix burns wonderfully in my...

    A couple WMO questions...getting started.

I'm actually looking more at finding a reliable source for used ATF because of it's relative cleanliness, low viscosity, and cleaning properties. I probably will stay in the 50% range even with ATF.

    A couple WMO questions...getting started.

I had thought about filtering the oil repeatedly if it doesn't take too long. I have an early 99 powerstroke diesel F-250 4x4 Lariet supercab. About how much percentage can this motor handle without asking for trouble. I realize that the earlier IDIs and 7.3 non-turbos can handle a higher...

    A couple WMO questions...getting started.

In my 3 filter WMO sytem I am looking at using 10"x2.5" string wound filter cartridges with a 20 micron, and then a 10 micron, and then a 2 micron filter. I plan on pouring the raw collected waste oil through a screened funnel and a 200 micron 16" filter sock into a clean steel 55 gallon barrel...

    WMO systems & magnets

I was looking into the really powerful neodymium magnets on ebay that are small enough to drop a few along side each of my 10" filter cartridges. That way, you could tell what is sticking to them and clean them easily rather than dropping them into a steel barrel and never knowing.

    7.3 longevity

I'm at 196,xxx on my 99 Lariet 4x4 PSD and believe i'm only half way there.

    Just a lil' gloating

You commited a felony (stole it).....that's a really nice looking truck.

    Should I buy this truck?

Wow, looks like a really nice truck with relatively low mileage and no rust or body damage. Talk to the owner for more info and ask him about any problems, but that "buy it now" of $6400 looks like a good deal. Also look into the shipping price to get it home, that may determine if it's still...

    MPG woes

I agree with rthomas that purchasing upgrades for mileage only have a point of deminishing returns when taking the initial purchase price into consideration. I bought my truck with the expensive stainless 4" exhaust, and only spent about $75 on the RIFRAF DIESEL big filter kit. The...

    MPG woes

Most of the fuel mileage game is in the way you drive. I drive very gently and do the speed limit mostly out on county roads or highway with my 99 4x4 lariat PSD. Even in 10-20 degree weather, i'm still managing 15 MPG and that's letting it warm up for a few minutes every morning in the...

    Superduty Tires

I just put Hercules "terra-trac" tires on my early 99 PSD. They have a semi-aggresive tread and are really quiet on the road. I have 265/75/16 tires that are 31.9" tall. I almost went with the 285/75/16s to get that extra inch of height but decided to keep the speedometer true and go with...

    MPG woes

I just towed my 7000 lb TT over the weekend through the hills of Eastern Ohio with my 99 4x4 PSD and got 13 MPG over 325 miles.

Injectors after two years running WMO

So is your actual fuel mileage and power both up burning the WMO over straight diesel ? I realize that you're saving 80%-90% on your fuel costs burning that percentage WMO, but just curious about actual numbers.

    pump for filtering WMO

On ebay, I just picked up a slightly used blue 1" clear water pump exactly like the one from Harbor Freight (see Nappy Nates post) for $20 plus $20 shipping. I think i'm going the 3 filter housing route with a 15 micron, a 5 micron, and then a 1 micron string woven filter cartriges, followed by...

    Waterbed heater for veg?

How did the waterbed heater work ? I have been looking for a cheaper route to heat my used motor oil for running through the centrifuge more efficiently.
