In my 3 filter WMO sytem I am looking at using 10"x2.5" string wound filter cartridges with a 20 micron, and then a 10 micron, and then a 2 micron filter. I plan on pouring the raw collected waste oil through a screened funnel and a 200 micron 16" filter sock into a clean steel 55 gallon barrel and then adding the appropriate amount of diesel fuel (probably 50%) before pumping the 100 degree heated (with a waterbed heater) oil/fuel mix through the filters and into another clean barrel that is portable.

I already found a deal online for the filter socks, but was wondering who has the best deals for the 10"x2.5" string wound filters and about how long they last ??

I have a 60 GPH 120V Harbor Freight 1/2 HP 1" pump and 3/4" lines and filter housings........will I have any trouble pumping the heated oil through such fine filters ??

I really want to overfilter the mix to prevent any injector or HPOP problems from arising.

some say that heated oil doesnt filter as well as cold oil. as far as over filtering the wmo you are on the right track. i would also put a water seperater filter in your works as well.and if you wont that oil real clean you can filter your oil over and over by having the wmo pump back into the barrel that its coming out of. thats how i do it but i only have one 1 mircon filter in my setup.

you might want to add heat to simply boil off any moisture then filter it cold. filtering it hot lets it get through the filters more easily but so does some of the grime that would have been caught if the oil was let cold.

i think the pump will work, i have used to pump oil for collecting. its a pain in the ass to prime for that and was slow but it worked. i seem to remember it taking about 45 min or so to fill a 55 gallon drum.

I had thought about filtering the oil repeatedly if it doesn't take too long.

I have an early 99 powerstroke diesel F-250 4x4 Lariet supercab. About how much percentage can this motor handle without asking for trouble. I realize that the earlier IDIs and 7.3 non-turbos can handle a higher mix ratio, but just really haven't heard a consensus on the turbo PSD.

Turbo doesn't have much to do with it. Its more about the injectors and pumps. Look up EMDdriver. He is running it in a PSD, and I think he is running quite a bit!

I'm actually looking more at finding a reliable source for used ATF because of it's relative cleanliness, low viscosity, and cleaning properties. I probably will stay in the 50% range even with ATF.
