sorry guy's was out of town. it is 96 it does it every time you start it cold or hot. i can press on the pedal just a bit and when it starts it does not lope. i have not done a thing to the motor but change oil. i have had it now for about a year and zero issues. 270,000 miles. once it starts...
I posted a while back that my truck has a crazy lope when you first start it and was leaking fuel. I was told it was the sensor on the side of the fuel bowl. I replaced it with a copper plug. It was fixed no leak and no crazy idle. It has started it again. I pulled the plug replaced the thread...
ok I'm sure it is on here somewhere but I can't seem to find anything.
I have a 96 and it is an automatic. the gear shifter has a lot of slop in it and seems to be getting worse. can someone shed some light on this for me. is it a problem up by the steering wheel or down under the truck?
Thanks.
Hello All,
ok went out yesterday morning and started my truck and let it idle for about 10 minutes when i went to move it when it hit about 1500 RPM's it sounded like a jet airplane was taking off. The truck as never done this. it was about 31 degrees and not started in 3 or 4 days. when i say...
ok well i think its fixed? had an older gentelman show me where it was leaking. It was the sensor to tell you when to change the fuel filter. He told me to replace it with a 1/8" pipe plug so i did. No more fuel on the ground and so far for three days no crazy start up idle. It could just be in...
well i have nailed it down on the leak today. dont seam to be the banjo bolt or the pump. its the black sensor on the right side of the filter bowl. not sure what that is but it has one wire hooked to it?
262,000 last change about 1000 miles ago. Rottela T also if it helps i now see a small fuel leak right under the truck about where the back of the motor is. i only see the leak when its cool in the mornings now when it heats up no leak??
Ok I’m very new to Diesel trucks so please forgive me if this is something easy.

Update,
I went out this morning and she fired right up. I let it run for about 20 minutes with no issues. I have not checked the coolant since maybe June. it was full and no bubbles.
Everyone is telling me I should see bubbles with cavatation? A few are leaning to a bad injector but i cant...
no have not checked for bubles yet will do tomorrow. could a bad injector be where my fuel smell is coming from? Also one last question and yes i know i sound really lost but ever since i bought this truck it idels at 1000 RPMS for a few minutes and then drops to 800 is this normal?
funny you metioned that I have been smelling fuel for about a month. I have looked everywhere but you can only smell it for a second when you turn coners. i know that sounds crazy but thats the only time????
