Guages......
Remember, Ford sells these things with the idiot in mind! They figure that the more these guages move, the more idiots will call. Unfortunatly for us gearheads who have inquiring minds get the short end on the deal. There should be an option for functional guages. But , alas, ignorance is bliss...- NOGM

Got an ABS light on
Glad things were taken care of, and here I thought I was a super-genious;p ! I had the same problem on my '93 Lightning and the ABS sensor on the :moon:was the culprit. Guess these new-fangled thingys are more complex now!- NOGM

Got an ABS light on
My guess would be the connection on the top of the differential housing to the VSS (or the ABS sensor) or the VSS itself, as it controls the ABS and the speedometer, I think. Does the speedo act erraticly? Give it a look see, might be that simple, and I would also guess that if it has one...- NOGM

How many of you guys
Yep. I drive a Yellow and Purple (not my choice) 2002 Peterbilt 379 Ext Hood Transfer locally (mostly) with a C12 Cat, 13sp Fuller, American Class interior with all the bells and whistles. I've got my Nathan P-3 Train Horn mounted under the bed (for lane changing purposes). Only weighs 80 grand...- NOGM

Synthetic oil in......
Ummm, changing the trans fluid to anything other than Mercon SP is a no no for Ford and will void the warranty. Mercon SP IS a synthetic fluid and a dang good one at that, so I would leave well enough alone! As for the engine, I like the regular old dino oil as I change mine every 3K, period...- NOGM

The EGR--------------
The only way to really disable the EGR is to cap off the exhaust inlet by welding the tube shut from what I have heard. The trouble with just unhooking the EGR valve is that the exhaust is still present in the EGR cooler which still heats up the coolant and can cause soot build up behind the...- NOGM
